voice, gesture, sound and light

Sancta Viscera Tua was a piece constructed in a convergence of people, architectures and contexts that together carried out a reenactment of alterity.

A libretto for sound, gesture, insects and space was developed from the archetypes of a Via Sacra, taking its structure and building on the vibrational impetus present in mass human gatherings and on the mediation between matter and anima. The piece was organized in five Acts and performed by ten performers, a choir of one hundred people and an ensemble of musicians.

This sonic and scenic piece was developed for the space of Santa Clara, the former church of the women's convent constructed in 1457 in Porto. The Via Sacrum is here treated as a temporal and organizational structure, serving has a policy for the reenactment of the invisible tensions present in human collective actions and celebrations of violence.

The first moment was presented in 2014, at Santa Clara church in Porto on the 12th of April, and at the São Francisco church in Guimarães on the 16th of April.
